All right. I am back. Not feeling all the way back, but enough to get caught up with my blogging.
So lets see........we last left off with just before Halloween. Brock turned 13 years old on the 22nd of October and then after that it was crazy busy with holiday stuff. November went by quickly for me.Thanksgiving was great! It was quiet and great! I feel like I work much more during the holidays. There is always someone either sick or having a baby(yeah Lucious) or just really busy and they need extra help. Its ok though. I really like my job and that means extra money for Christmas. This was the first Christmas in about 7 years that I didn't have to work at all on either Christmas Eve or Christmas. I was so excited to sleep in on Christmas morning! However, Danny had this great idea to wake up before everyone else and start breakfast. It would have been great except that the Bubble Bread spilled over in the oven and started smoking real bad. It was 7:30 in the morning. I jumped up and ran into the kitchen where I found Danny opening all of the windows, the doors and turned on the ceiling fans. It was freezing! The kids were still not awake! I was a little upset but tried my hardest to be forgiving. It was hard. I layed back down and let Danny deal with it if he is going to be so excited about it, but I couldn't fall back to sleep. Oh well, maybe I can sleep in next year. The rest of the day was way fun. We had a great Christmas.
December 14th, I had sinus surgery. I had a CT scan done of my sinuses beforehand and they found polyps, a deviated septum, sinus cavities full of infections and a signficant amount of scar tissue. What the heck? The surgery was only supposed to be an hour long. Mine was 2 and a half hours. Apparently, part of my right eye socket is missing. It is just eyeball against membranes. What happened to me? I first decided to see the ENT doctor because of daily migraines since last July. Headaches so bad, I would vomit if I tried to push through it. Not cool. Since surgery, I still have headaches. Not as bad as before, but now I breath easier. I didn't know I couldn't breath before. By the way, sinus surgery in the middle of winter is not a good idea. I am still not feeling complete, the cold affects me and the inversion kills me. Global Warming? I don't think so!!!
Enough of my sob story. The kids are awesome! Loving school, so many friends I can't keep track and so involved in church activities. I am now the only member of this family that doesn't carry the title "President". Danny is Young Mens President, Kaytlin is Mia Maid President and Brock is the Deacon Quorum President. I am very proud of my family! However, I can't help but think that there has got to be other members of the ward that can be leaders. Not just the Marden family. Have you ever heard of the "STP"? That is the "same ten people". That means the same people get called to do everything in church. We are not going to say no when people need us or ask us to do something, but we have over 600 members in our ward. I am sure there is someone else who would like to have the chance. Maybe recieve some blessing of their own. Whatever.
Whew! I guess I had alot to say. I am not done though. Today, Danny, Brock and I went to a funeral. It was young man who played on Brocks football team with him last Fall. Danny coached him also. Last Sunday he commited suicide. He left a note to his parents that listed all of the names of the kids that were bullying him. In this same note, he said he lived for playing football with his real friends. He loved his football team and coaches, but had enough of the school bullies. It was a very sad funeral and at the same time I am so relieved my son was his friend. This young man requested that his football team wear their jerseys to his funeral. He did not attend the same school Brock does. My heart breaks for his family. These are some pictures of the funeral.
