Brock is 14 years old! Yup, thats right. 14!!! He is now a Teacher in the Young Mens Priesthood and can go to the Stake Dances. Oh man I am so excited for this awesome kid. He has got a bright future indeed. He does however seem to think he has arrived. He thinks he is the king of the house and will try his hardest to remind me of this every day since his birthday on the 22nd. Um...yea...that is not happening. Awesome pics!! This is Brock in one of his recent games. Thats him on the right side running in for a touchdown.
Two quick funny stories about Brock. A couple of weeks ago, we decided to visit the Hogle Zoo. It was a beautiful Fall day and Brock had just won his football game against Woods Cross. Actualy Brock is not a big fan of the zoo, but we made him go anyway. I think he was doing just fine. He says it would have been way more fun if he had his laser pointer with him. Some of the animals react funny with it. Anyway, just before we decided to head out, we spotted a couple of ravens. Brock was standing there staring at one of the birds for a long time. I thought that this was odd since he only ever just briefly looks at the animals and then ushers us on. So I asked him whats up. He said he has just made a new friend. He asked the raven where he is from. The raven looked at him and apparently answered back to him, "Baltimore". What??? Oh yea, Brocks favorite football team is the Baltimore Ravens. I decided not to make him move on, but he can decide when it was time to go. He said that was his favorite part about the whole zoo.
Just this last Friday, the kids had just gotten home from school. (Its is so great that big sis Kaytlin can drive and pick Brock up from school now.) They sat down and like usual started talking about their day at school. We were talking for quite a while and I then I asked Brock why he hasn't taken off his back pack yet. He looked at me with a huge grin on his face. Ok...really?! I'm not dumb. I know a guilty face when I see it. He took off his back pack and this is what I found.
Dude! What the freakin crap happened to your shirt!! I was kind of laughing while I asked questions. Then I contratulated him on the intelligence and creativity to think of the staples. Then he told me he was playing football and slipped on the grass. Hmmmm. So you're saying grass did this? Yep. You hit the grass so hard that it left a hole in your shirt, but no grass stains. Hmmmm. Welllllll...my friend was trying to tackle me and pulled on my shirt instead. Ok, that I believe. Then he said he was afraid to tell me because he thought I would get mad at either him or his friend. I don't care about some dumb 10 dollar shirt from some dumb Oakley outlet store. I'm sure they have more. Sheesh! His poor friend said he was sorry so many times. Awwww. Boys are weird!!!
